Wood: basswood Height: 12in Length: 18in Finish:  linseed oil & artist's oils    Dragon #1 This is the first of two dragons I've carved from a Tom Wolfe book.  I made some minor changes to the basic pattern.  The wings are 30% larger,  the toes of feet were replaced with talons, the skin is less textured, and I added more muscle definition.  The basic pose though was nothing I could improve on, especially the back and forth curve of the tail.  The book is a must have item even if you're just a lover of dragons.
